NATPE acquired the former DISCOP Budapest franchise in 2011 and rebranded it under the NATPE name while keeping the focus on CEE territories.
In an email response to questions regarding the move, NATPE President and CEO Rod Perth said, “Budapest is at the heart of the CEE. It offers great access to the production and creative communities as well as very good transportation systems that serve the whole region. We are moving back to Budapest to the InterContinental Hotel which can easily accommodate our growing Market and Content Summit.”
The 2015 market in Prague sold out its floor space and added attendees.
“The decision to return to Budapest was taken after discussion with our clients, exhibitors and buyers. It wasn’t influenced by any government incentives,” Perth said. “We believe by moving our event to different parts of the region we can become more relevant to more companies who want to do business with each other and with other parts of the world.”
NATPE Europe is scheduled for 27-30 June 2016.
