Miskinyte is attending the Cottbus IFF (www.filmfestivalcottbus.de) for the world premiere of the Lithuanian 90-minute documentary Dreaming the Path (www.facebook.com/CreativeDocDreamingThePath) produced by her company Era Film (www.erafilm.lt) and directed by Jokūbas Vilius Tūras. The film screens the following week at Lithuania’s Scanorama Film Festival (www.scanorama.lt). The 80,000 EUR film about a former alcoholic man walking from Vilnius to Santiago de Compostella is seeking an international sales agent.
Lithuanian film producer Rasa Miskinyte is in the process of looking for an international sales agent for the film which is being shown at the Lithuanian film festival Scanorama next week.
Miskinyte says the 80,000-euro film is about a man who had previously battled with alcholisim and won who in 2010 as part of a personal search for meaning in his post-alcohlic world walked the 4,500 km from Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, to Santiago de Compostella, filming himself as he went and interviewing the people he met.
Miskinyte’s next film received a 25,000 EUR MEDIA development grant. Escaping Sunshine will be directed by Allan von O.T. Andersen. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with a 2015 completion date.
