Malta Today reported that the Film Fund has been suspended while the fund is being restructured.

Grech, who is a producer and director, was appointed Film Commissioner in late December 2013. He is working with local film professionals on plans and priorities for the fund. Changes are expected to include the way development and production are funded, setting schedules for funding, working with the EU to access funds through the Creative Europe programme, reforms to the cash rebate programme, and education in aspects of film production.
