"The catch is that all the decisions will have to be made by the groom
and the bride won't know about anything," Paul Welling, SVP head of
channels at Discovery Networks CEEMA, said.
In the Polish version of the show each couple will be separated and
the groom will receive 40,000 PLN (EUR 9,500), which is more then an
average cost of a Polish wedding. Ten episodes of the show are being produced by the British
company Rivalde. The production of the
Polish show launched in May 2011 in several cities in Poland and is
coming to a close in the beginning of September, with a premiere planned
for 14 October 2011.
TLC Poland (www.tlcpolska.pl)
will celebrate its first anniversary on the Polish market in October 2012. "The
station has achieved enormous success. It is the biggest female
lifestyle-entertainment brand in Poland," Welling said. In July
2011, TLC had 0.52% of the lifestyle stations market, becoming the
leader and dominating the local TVN Style (www.tvnstyle.pl).
The station is planning to
introduced more locally produced content in the upcoming year,
presenting at least one or more Polish productions for each season.
