TVN Dropped from WIG20

By

WARSAW: Poland’s leading private broadcaster TVN has been cut from the Warsaw Stock Exchange’s index of the 20 largest Polish companies.

TVN was the last media company in WIG20. The drop was caused by an ongoing media crisis in Poland that dates back to 2011, with broadcasters losing ratings and advertisers. TVN will be replaced in WIG20 by Eurocash, a company in the food merchandise industry.

The broadcaster will become a part of the WIG40 index. The station has not issued a statement on the matter.
