Cinema City Boardmember Steps Down

    WARSAW: The leading multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel has announced the resignation of Amos Weltsch, member of the board of managing directors, chief operating officer and head of the construction department.

    Cinema City operates 100 multiplexes with 974 screens, in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Israel. It is expanding fast, with 35 more multiplexes under development, which will feature more than 370 screens.

    The company sold 36.3 million tickets these territories last year and it employs over 4,000 people. Weltsch, who worked with Cinema City for 33 years, is stepping down to pursue personal projects, according to a company statement.

    He will continue to be involved in various projects and will serve as advisor until his retirement at the end of 2014. The management board is now composed of two members, Moshe Greidinger and Israel Greidinger.
