    WARSAW: The hit spy thriller Jack Strong by Władysław Pasikowski will screen in the main competition of the Gdynia Film Festival running 15-20 September 2014.

    The film was the first hit of 2014, surpassing even major international titles. It closed in on 1 million admissions in Poland within a month of its release in February, distributed by ITI Cinema.

    The film also had a run in the UK and Ireland beginning shortly after its Polish release. 

    Jack Strong is an action-packed production inspired by the life of Colonel Ryszard Kukliński, who acted as a spy for CIA trafficking secret Warsaw Pact documents during the Cold War. It was shot in Polish, English and Russian.

    The 3.5 m USD film was produced by Scorpio Studio and coproduced by ITI Cinema and Orange Polska with co-financing from the Polish Film Institute. The film stars Marcin Dorociński in the lead role and features Maja Ostaszewska, Ireneusz Czop and Zbigniew Zamachowski.
