The European Federation of Screenwriters brings together unions, guilds and associations of screenwriters from most European countries representing the interests of over 6,000 screenwriters.

"My choice is certainly a proof of the recognition of the high-ranking of the Polish cinema in Europe, including the contribution of writers. FSE fights for a better protection of the moral and material rights of writers which are also important for the Polish writers. We will be more visible in Europe, which will lead to participation in international projects, training and other activities of the European community screenwriters", Maciej Karpinski said in a statement.
