WARSAW: The international TV and broadband company Liberty Global announced the acquisition of the cable business Multimedia Polska through Liberty Global’s subsidiary UPC Poland. Multimedia Polska is valued at 3 bln PLN.
Liberty Global CEO Mike Fries said: “This acquisition will significantly increase our scale in Poland, where we are already the largest cable operator.” The company plans to invest in upgrading the network. With the new addition, UPC will be able to reach over 4 million households and businesses.
Liberty Global also has a presence in the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia.
