The Polish Film Institute Awards, established in 2008, recognize the achievements of individuals and companies in promoting Polish cinema both locally and abroad.
"These awards are very special to us. The filmmakers have their festivals, meetings with the audience - they are honored and appreciated. In everyday life we forget about the role of people who enable both the movie and the filmmaker to meet the person most valuable: the viewer. There is more to film industry then films. It's all of the people who work daily in order for the viewer to find what his is looking for and to help him in finding challenging cinema. With these awards we want to thank them for their passion, great work and major contribution to the national culture," Agnieszka Odorowicz, the Director of PFI said during the ceremony.
