Cold War is a drama about two people who can't live with or without each other in the 50’s and the 60’s. " The film will tell the story of young people of those times and will talk about their great and difficult love, that was run through the mill of history", Paweł Pawlikowski told FNE while developing the film.

Cold War was produced by Apocalypso Pictures and Opus Film along MK Productions. The main characters are played by Joanna Kulig, Agata Kulesza, Borys Szyc and Tomasz Kot.

Paris-based MK2 Films and London-based Protagonist Pictures are handling the sales.

Girls of the Sun is set in Kurdistan. Bahar played by Golshifteh Farahani is the commander in chief of the Girls of the Sun, a Kurdish female battalion. She is about to take back the town where she was previously captured by the extremists. French journalist Mathilde played by Emmanuelle Bercot covers the first three days of the offensive. Through their encounter, Bahar relives the experience of how the men dressed in black changed the course of her existence.

The film was produced by Didar Domehri through France’s Maneki Films in coproduction with France’s Wild Bunch and Etienne Comar through Arches Films, Joseph Roushop and Pascal Diot through Belgium’s Gapbusters, Vladimer Katcharava through Georgia’s 20 Steps Productions and Jamal Zeinal Zade and Dan Weshler through Switzerland’s Bord Cadre films, in association with Elle Driver, BackUp Media, B Media 2014, Indéfilms 6 and Cinécap, and with the participation of Canal +, OCS, RTBF, Proximus, Tax Shelter Casa Kafka Pictures and the Wallonie-Bruxelles Federation.

The French CNC (support for new technologies in production and development support), Creative Europe Programme – MEDIA of the European Union, ANGOA, Aquitaine région and the Film In Georgia cash rebate system supported the project.

The parallel sections Critics’ Week and Directors’ Fortnight will announce their selections on 16 April and 17 April 2018 respectively.
