Romanian Ad Market Drops in 2011

    BUCHAREST: The Romanian ad market is expected to show a decline of 4% in 2011, with light growth anticipated at the beginning of 2012, ZenithOptimedia/Zenith Media Romania (www.zenithmedia.ro) estimates in a new report.

    The internet is the only medium that will experience growth in Romania in 2011, with a 25% increase, while TV, printed press, radio, cinema and OOH will decrease between 4 - 13%. The ad market is now globally estimated at 466 billion USD (it was 450 billion USD in 2010.).

    The online ad market was 43.7 million RON (10.3 million Euro) in the first half of 2011, or 9% less than the second half of 2010, but with 4% more than the first half of 2010, says a report of Romanian Online Advertising Study (ROADS), made by IAB Romania (www.iab-romania.ro) and PwC Romania (www.pwc.com/ro), and issued in Bucharest.
