Ultimul zburător/The Last Incubus uses a well-known character in the local folklor, Zburătorul, who supposedly seduces young girls at night, and introduces it into a contemporary love story between an Incubus disguised as a biker (Gabriel Duţu) and a house music singer (Iulia Verdeş).
Georgescu plans the film as part of a trilogy that is scheduled to wrap in three years. He is producing through Asociaţia Culturală Promissum in coproduction with Danirom IT Solutions, Stage Expert, HI-FI Production, Musitech Production and Pen Production. The independent film has a budget of 600,000 EUR, with only 15% as a cash budget, Georgescu told FNE, as the cast and crew work for free.
The film was shot on 22 locations in 35 days, including one day for aerial shooting and another one for underwater shooting, and it is expected to be finished in early 2014. It’s the first domestic film to be distributed by InterComFilm, the representative of Sony Pictures/Columbia in Romania, which began six months of promotion with a march of 110 bikers across Bucharest, a presentation of the Promissum Cultural Manifesto at the Library of the Academy of Romania, an Incubus Night, and the release of a mythology book translated by the screenwriter Mihai Mănescu at the Gaudeamus Book Fair.
The second part of the Promissum Trilogy, The Legend of Manole /Legenda lui Manole is in development and set to be shot in summer 2014. The third part will be Ano and Kato/Ano şi Kato.
