The film is a Romanian-Bulgarian-Hungarian coproduction.
The main character tries to crack a case against a senior colleague accused of corruption. Looking further for the truth, he enters a danger zone paved with unexpected and painful revelations. Loredana Novak and Giurgiu wrote the script.
Oana Giurgiu and Giurgiu are producing through Libra Film Production, in coproduction with Borislav Chouchkov through Chouchkov Brothers (Bulgaria) and Emoke Vagasi through CorLeonis Film (Hungary). The project won a production grant of 174,700EUR/760,000 RON from the National Centre for Cinema in 2011. The Bulgarian Film Center, MEDIA programme, SEE Cinema Network, HBO Romania and Eurimages are also supporting the film.
The budget is 1,134,816EUR, Oana Giurgiu told FNE.
Marius Panduru is the DOP. The cast includes Emilian Oprea, Mihai Constantin, Andreea Vasile, Dan Condurache, and Virgil Ogasanu. Shooting started in February and it will wrap in mid-April. Cristian (working title) was shot in Bucharest and Oradea. The premiere is set for Spring 2015.
