Leading the nominations were the three films nominated for Best Film: Rocker (nine nominations), Child's Pose/Poziţia copilului (seven nominations), Domestic (seven nominations), along with A Very Unsettled Summer/O vară foarte instabilă (six nominations).

A jury of 10 professional members of the Filmmakers Union, presided over by Răzvan Theodorescu, a member of the Romanian Academy, selected the films competing for the prizes. Films will compete in 20 categories.
