Twenty seven films have been selected from among more than 2,000 applying for the International Competition and ten films have been selected for the National Competition from among 100 films. The International Jury is composed of Kevin B. Lee, Selim Azzazi, Jukka-Pekka Laakso and the Tudor Cristian Jurgiu, while the National Jury is composed of Andrea Jublin, Elad Keidan and Nicolae Constantin Tănase.

The Pitch contest, organized by Shorts TV, provides 5,000 EUR for a newcomer for producing a short film. NexT Short Film Market will sideline The Pitch contest this year.

NexT IFF was born in the memory of young film director Cristian Nemescu and sound designer Andrei Toncu, who died tragically in 2006, and is organized by Societatea Culturală NexT with the support of the National Film Center, Romanian Cultural Institute, Romanian Filmmakers Union and Creative Europe – MEDIA Sub-programme.
