    CLUJ-NAPOCA: Emanuel Pârvu’s debut feature Meda or the Not So Happy Side of Things will screen in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. This independent production starring Șerban Pavlu (Everybody in Our Family) was awarded two Hearts of Sarajevo for director and actor at the 2017 Sarajevo Film Festival.

    The story written by Emanuel Pârvu follows a recently widowed lumberjack who tries to keep a little girl orphan for whom he was a maternal assistant together with his late wife. The cast includes Ana Radu, Florin Zamfirescu, Adrian Titieni, Dan Aștilean, Radu Gabriel and Rodica Negrea.

    Meda or The Not So Bright Side of Things / Meda sau partea nu prea fericită a lucrurilor was is produced by Miruna Berescu through FAMart Productions in coproduction with Dan Chișu through DaKINO Productions and Dorin Mirea through Ceramus Film. Shooting took place in the Argeș County in 2016.

    The film was domestically released by FAMart Productions in 2017.
