Slovenia began HD broadcasts in February 2010 with coverage of the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. The deployment brings more HD content to Slovenian viewers from across the country. RTV Slovenia's services consist of three channels: TV Slovenija 1, 2, and 3, as well as TV Slovenija HD.

"As the public service broadcaster for Slovenia, we have a duty to provide the highest quality programming and content to the viewing public as possible, and our commitment to high definition TV services is central to that," said Matjaž Fajdiga, Head of TV engineering, RTV Slovenia.
