By Deniz Ziya Temeltas
Sahan Gokbakar starrer Recep Ivedik 2 with 1,209.433 admissions in three days over the weekend broke the all time opening weekend record of Valley of the Wolf with 1,100,000 admissions four years ago.

The earlier Recep Ivedik was the box office champion of 2008 with 4,365,640 admissions.

Both Recep Ivedik films were produced by Faruk Aksoy (Aksoy Film), Mehmet Soyarslan (Ozen Film) & Ayse Germen (Kirli Kedi) with less than $2 million each, and distributed by Ozen Film. In Germany Kinostar handles distribution of the film, one of the top four films in overall box office of the same period.

The other notable Turkish film was Autumn Pains-Guz Sancisi with 21,300 additional admissions in its fourth week reaching 503,163. The film, a love story between a Greek and a Turk in the politically charged autumn of 1956 in Istanbul, was produced by C Production & Asis Yapim, for $3 million.
