By Deniz Ziya Temeltas
In its second year, the ‘Turkish Oscar' Yesilcam Awards were dominated by Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Three Monkeys.
The film won Best Film, Best Director (Nuri Bilge Ceylan), Best Actress (Hatice Aslan), Best Script (Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Ebru Ceylan and Ercan Kesal), Best Cinematography (Gokhan Tiryaki). Nuri Bilge Ceylan was awarded as the Best Director at Cannes Film Festival this year.

The event is organised by the Culture Ministry and the Beyoglu Municipality, the center of the Turkish Film Industry. 1500 eligible voters from Cinema, Media and Business Circles awarded the Best Actor to Onur Saylan for his part in Autumn, while its director Ozcan Alper was awarded for Best First Film.

The two most popular films of the year fared poorly. Issiz Adam- Alone (By Cagan Irmak) won for Best Music, and Cem Yilmaz's A.R.O.G. (with the director starring) went home empty-handed.
