PARIS: Ildiko Enyedi’s new film The Story of My Wife has been selected for Cannes 2021 Competition, as well as the Estonian minority coproduction Compartment No.6 by Juho Kuosmanen, while other titles from FNE partner countries have been selected for other sections of the Official Selection, which was announced on 3 June 2021. The 74th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will be held 6-17 July 2021.

CANNES: Several projects in postproduction from FNE partner countries, presented at the New Horizons International Film Festival, Tallinn Black Nights FF, Thessaloniki IFF, Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum and SANFIC Industria – Santiago International Film Festival, are among the 26 projects which will be showcased at the 9th hybrid edition of Goes to Cannes within the Cannes Marché du Film, 9-12 June 2021.

BUCHAREST: Romanian writer/director/producer Cristian Mungiu will head the jury of the 2021 Cannes’ Critics Week. Karel Och, the artistic director of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is a member of the jury.

MOSCOW: The 43rd edition of the Moscow International Film Festival awarded its top prize for best film in the main competition to #dogpoopgirl (Romania) by Romanian director Andrei Hutuleac, who was in Moscow to collect the prize at the closing ceremony on 29 April. Romanian actress Andreea Gramosteanu also won the prize for Best Actress for her work on the film.

BERLIN: Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn by Radu Jude was awarded the Golden Bear at the 71st edition of the Berlin International Film Festival, which took place online 1-5 March 2021. The Hungarian films in the Competition, Natural Light by Dénes Nagy and Forest - I See You Everywhere by Bence Fliegauf were awarded for director and supporting performance, respectively. The Golden Bear for Short Film went to the Hungarian minority coproction My Uncle Tudor / Nanu Tudor directed by the Moldavian director Olga Lucovnicova.

BERLIN: Two Hungarian films, Forest - I See You Everywhere by Bence Fliegauf and Natural Light by Dénes Nagy, as well as Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn by Romanian Radu Jude and What Do We See When We Look at the Sky? by Georgian Alexandre Koberidze, are among the 15 titles selected for the Competition of the 2021 Berlinale. Czech minority coproduction Je suis Karl by Christian Schwochow will screen in Berlinale Special.

BERLIN: The Serbian production The Celts by Milica Tomović and the Romanian minority coproduction Brother's Keeper by Ferit Karahan, will have their world premieres in the Panorama section of the 71st edition of the Berlin International Film Festival.

BERLIN: Hungarian minority coproduction My Uncle Tudor by Olga Lucovnicova and Georgian minority coproduction Taming the Garden by Salomé Jashi will screen in Berlinale Shorts and Berlinale Forum, respectively.

BERLIN: The minority coproduction from Poland, Mission Ulja Funk by Barbara Kronenberg, and The White Fortress by Igor Drljača, from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Canada, have been selected for the 2021 Berlinale's Generation section.
