TRIESTE: The Italian/Slovenian coproduction The Man Without Guilt by Italian writer/director Ivan Gergolet is participating in the Co-production Forum of the 10th edition of When East Meets West (19-21 January 2020), the industry section of the Trieste Film Festival.

TRIESTE: Sandbag Dam, the new project by Čejen Černić Čanak after her BO hit The Mystery of Green Hill (2017), is participating in the Co-production Forum of the 10th edition of When East Meets West (19-21 January 2020), the industry section of the Trieste Film Festival. The film will also be produced by Kinorama.

TRIESTE: Valley of Monuments, the new feature film by acclaimed Bosnian writer/director Srdan Vuletic, will be showcased in the Co-production Forum of the 10th edition of When East Meets West (19-21 January 2020), the industry section of the Trieste Film Festival. The film is a coproduction between Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

TRIESTE: Acclaimed Slovenian/German director Hanna Slak’s new feature film Not a Word / Kein Wort will be showcased in the Co-production Forum of the 10th edition of When East Meets West (19-21 January 2020), the industry section of the Trieste Film Festival. The film is a German/Slovenian coproduction.

TRIESTE: Double Happiness / Dublă fericire, the debut feature by Romanian director Sebastian Mihăilescu, will be showcased in the Co-production Forum of the 10th edition of When East Meets West (19-21 January 2020), the industry section of the Trieste Film Festival. The film is produced by Diana Păroiu and Ada Solomon through microFILM.

This month we speak with Iwona Bartnicka, Film Culture Department Manager within the Art Centre (MOS) Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland, who is in charge of the cinema 60 krzeseł. The cinema was established in 2002 as a part of the Art Centre in Gorzów Wielkopolski. It screens art house films and also organises events and educational programmes on film and media. Among others it hosts the film club DKF Megaron, which received the Polish Films Institute Award in 2016.

BUCHAREST: Teen comedy 5GANG: Another Christmas, the debut feature by vlogger Matei Dima, tops the weekly Romanian box office with 146,784 admissions and 592,738 EUR / 2,831,396 RON gross. The film, released on 27 December 2019, set the opening record in Romania since 1989 and holds the 24th position in the general box office.

SIBIU: New Bucharest-based cinema operator CineGold SRL opened its first multiplex in Sibiu in November 2019. This is the first multiplex opened in this Transylvanian city, which was the European Capital of Culture in 2007.
