CLUJ-NAPOCA: The first feature film by Ivana Mladenovic, Soldiers. A Story from Ferentari, will screen in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. This contemporary gay love story set in the poorest neighborhood of Bucharest had its world premiere at the 2017 San Sebastian FF and it was also selected for Toronto Festival’s Discovery section.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Romanian actor Vlad Zamfirescu's directing debut feature The Secret of Happiness will screen in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. The film is a comedy based on a theatre play that Zamfirescu staged in Bucharest.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Corneliu Porumboiu’s documentary Infinite Football will screen in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. The film had its world premiere in the 2018 Berlinale Forum.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Constantin Popescu’s third feature film Pororoca will screen in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. This Romanian/French coproduction received the best actor award for Bogdan Dumitrache at the 2017 San Sebastian FF.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Emanuel Pârvu’s debut feature Meda or the Not So Happy Side of Things will screen in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. This independent production starring Șerban Pavlu (Everybody in Our Family) was awarded two Hearts of Sarajevo for director and actor at the 2017 Sarajevo Film Festival.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Daniel Sandu’s debut feature One Step Behind the Seraphim will be screened in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. The film won eight awards at the12th Gopo awards including best film, best director and best debut feature.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Free Dacians directed by Andrei Gorgan and Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan will have its national premiere in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. This long documentary questions the true identity of the Romanian people.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Ana Dumitrescu’s Licu, a Romanian Story will screen in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. The documentary was awarded with the Golden Dove at the 2017 DOK Leipzig.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Director/screenwriter/producer Bogdan Theodor Olteanu will have the national premiere of his debut feature Several Conversations about a Very Tall Girl / Câteva conversații despre o fată foarte înaltă in the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. This independent production is an intimate love story between two young women set in contemporary Romania.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Alexandru Mavrodineanu’s second long documentary Caisă will screen in the Romanian Days competition at the 17th edition of the Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. The film follows the relationship between a young boxer and his coach.
