CLUJ-NAPOCA: Stere Gulea’s Moromete Family: On the Edge of Time / Moromeții 2 will screen in the Romanian Days at the 18th Transilvania IFF (31 May - 9 June 2019). The sequel to one of the most popular Romanian films of all times was the most popular domestic film in Romania in 2018 with 184,951 admissions and 529,339 EUR / 2,475,122 RON gross.

BUCHAREST: Stere Gulea’s Moromete Family: On the Edge of Time / Moromeții 2 was awarded best film and received the trophy of the 47th Romanian Filmmakers Union Awards (UCIN) for 2018. The gala was held on 28 May 2019.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Marius Olteanu’s debut feature Monsters. will screen in the Romanian Days and also in the main competition of the18th Transilvania IFF (31 May-9 June 2019). The film had its world premiere in the 2019 Berlin IFF’s Forum section, winning the Tagesspiegel Readers' Jury Award.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Corneliu Porumboiu’s The Whistlers / La Gomera will screen in the Romanian Days at the 18th Transilvania IFF (31 May - 9 June 2019). This Romanian/French/German coproduction starring Vlad Ivanov was selected for the Cannes Competition 2019 and it was sold to Magnolia Pictures for distribution in Northern America during the festival.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians by Radu Jude will screen in the Romanian Days at the 18th Transilvania IFF (31 May-9 June 2019). The film was awarded the Crystal Globe for best film at the 53rd Karlovy Vary IFF and was Romania’s bid for the Oscars.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Radu Muntean’s Alice T. will screen in the Romanian Days at the 18th Transilvania IFF (31 May-9 June 2019). The film was awarded a Leopard for best actress (Andra Guți) at the 2018 Locarno Film Festival.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: A total of 15 feature films and 22 short films have been selected to screen in the Romanian Days section at the 18th Transilvania International Film Festival, running from 31 May to 9 June 2019 in Cluj-Napoca.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Twelve first and second feature films have been selected for the main competition of the 18th Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), which will be held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from 31 May to 9 June 2019. Among them is the Romanian coproduction Monsters. by Marius Olteanu, awarded with the Tagesspiegel Readers' Jury Award at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival, where it screened in the Forum section.

ZAGREB: FNE spoke with 2019 Producer on the Move Anita Juka representing Croatia. In 2015, she produced her sister Ivona Juka's debut feature You Carry Me, which was the first film from the Balkan region to be acquired by Netflix.

BUCHAREST: Romanian writer/director Anca Damian will show her French language animated film Marona’s Fantastic Tale at the Cannes Film Festival Market, followed by its screening in the competition of Annecy International Animation Film Festival (10-15 June 2019). Damian is also developing the English language animated film The Island, which will be a Romanian/Belgian coproduction.
