WARSAW: Academy Award nominee, Polish director Aneta Kopacz teamed up with Canal + Discovery for a six-episode documentary series Art-B Made in Poland about the scandalous rise and fall of one of the biggest private companies in the history of Poland. The series falls in line with the newest strategy presented in April 2017, when the company promised to produce over 200 hours of Polish content each year.

WARSAW: The Polish public broadcaster TVP finalised a special competition for documentaries celebrating the 100th anniversary of Polish independence and chose 13 projects that will go into production in 2018. Nine documentaries and four feature reports were chosen from among 57 submissions.

WARSAW: Sam Akina’s Planet Single 2, a sequel to the 2016 Polish box office hit starring Maciej Stuhr, is currently shooting in Warsaw. Kino Świat will release the film domestically on 9 November 2018.

WARSAW: Women of Mafia, a new crime comedy directed by Polish box office hit filmmaker Patryk Vega, noted the best result in 2018 with 684,000 admissions during its opening weekend, ahead of Fifty Shades Freed. The UK release by Odeon is set for 2 March 2018.

WARSAW: Agnieszka Holland will direct a drama about journalist Gareth Jones based on a script written by Andrea Serdaru-Barbul. The shoot is planned to launch in March 2018.

WARSAW: Polish company Watchout Studio launched the production of The Coldest Game, a spy thriller shot in English, directed by Łukasz Kośmicki.
