LÓDŹ: Polish producer Kamil Przełęcki talked exclusively to FNE about the financial realities of film production and distribution in Poland during the 2nd edition of Lodolamacz / Icebreaker, an industry event hosted by the Transatlantyk Festival 2018 in Łódź from 15 to 17 July 2019.

WARSAW: HBO and Netflix will sponsor the six-episode documentary series Traces of TV Series / Sladami seriali created by Polish YouTubers Kaja Szafrańska and Janusz Raczyński, for their jakbyniepaczec channel. The project jointly supported by HBO and Netflix on the Polish market is a homage to popular American TV shows.

WARSAW: The first season of the costume drama series Century of the Guilty, commissioned by the Polish public broadcaster TVP, is currently in production. It is one of the most expensive TVP projects.

WARSAW: British cinema chain Vue International has bought Polish Cinema3D. The chain has 11 cinemas in Poland, which will be transformed into Multikino units. Additionally, Vue International will buy and invest in three cinemas with 20 screens in Warsaw and Nowy Targ.

WROCŁAW: A showcase of domestic productions will be screened in the Polish Days programme of the 18th New Horizons IFF from 30 July to 1 August 2018.

WARSAW: Cold War directed by Paweł Pawlikowski has been sold to over 15 countries in North America, Europe and Australia. The film which won Best Director for Pawlikowski in Cannes just hit over 400,000 admissions in Poland.

WROCŁAW: Polish box office hit director Patryk Vega is working on his new crime thriller entitled Plagues of Breslau and has announced that he has purchased rights to the Pitbull franchise with plans to release the new part in November 2021.

KOSICE: The Line by Peter Bebjak will screen in the Slovak Season section of the 26th Art Film Fest, which runs 15 – 23 June 2018 in the Eastern Slovak city of Kosice.

WARSAW: Jan Komasa is working on his new drama Corpus Christi, a Script Pro winning project about a convict posing as a priest.

WARSAW: Sony Pictures Television Networks Central Europe has commissioned the first season of an original crime series entitled Signs from ATM Group. The show, directed by Jakub Miszczak and Marcin Ziębiński, will premiere on AXN in the fall of 2018.
