TALLINN:  A three-part coproduction from Estonia and Lithuania entitled The Man Slayer. The Virgin. The Shadow directed by Sulev Keedus was presented at the 20th Black Nights Film Festival Baltic Event Works in Progress showcase.

WARSAW: Loving Vincent, a fully painted animation feature about Van Gogh, directed by Dorota Kobiela, has been sold to over 100 countries worldwide.

WARSAW: Polish private broadcaster TVN bought a major share in Gamellon, a company specialising in producing Youtube programmes on gaming. TVN wants to attract more Youtube followers to its on-air and VOD offer.

WARSAW: The Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage announced the merge of two significant Polish public film institutions. The newly created National Film Archive - Audiovisual Institute will start its activity in March 2017. 

KATOWICE: Czech Director Vita Prochazka is in development with Will-o’-the-Wisp, a Czech fantasy film. Will-o’-the-Wisp was showcased at the Look for Fund meeting hosted by the 7th International Regiofun Film Festival.

ŁÓDŹ: Nine people have been selected to the Board of the newly created National Film Centre, designed to showcase Polish cinema. The NFC will start its activities in November 2016.

COTTBUS: The Polish comedy Planet Single by Slovenian director Mitja Okorn will vie in the main competition of the 26th Cottbus Film Festival, which runs 8 - 13 November 2016. Planet Single was one of the most successful films of the year in Poland and Slovenia.

KATOWICE: Kaytek The Wizard, a family film, directed by Magdalena Łazarkiewicz and based on a book by Janusz Korczak, will go into production in 2017. The film is planned as a Polish/Czech/Slovak coproduction.

KATOWICE: The Dutch drama Bodkin Ras produced by Raymond van der Kaaij and directed by Kaweh Modiri won the main prize in the Feature Film Competition at the 7th International Festival of Film Producers REGIOFUN in Katowice (18 - 23 October 2015). The Short Film Competition jury awarded ex-aequo The Radio Amateur directed by Lars Persson and the film French directed by Josza Anjembe.

WARSAW: The Line by Peter Bebjak was showcased at the12th CentEast Works In Progress, which took place during the 32nd Warsaw Film Festival from 14 to 16 October 2016. The film is a Slovak/Ukrainian coproduction.
