The story concerns a police inspector investigating an unusual case - the suspicious death of a man which appears to be suicide. The investigation turns into an obsession: the inspector secretly moves to the apartment of the deceased, delving deeper and deeper into his life and gradually assuming his identity.
Šterk stated, "This is a film that starts as a police thriller and then continues as an intimate thriller - a film where death is waiting to happen. In the time you watch the film at least 20 people commit suicide in Europe. And another hundred in the rest of the world. 1.2 million people in the world commit suicide every year. And Slovenia is among five countries with the highest suicide rate in the world!"
{mosimage} German-French co-producer ZDF Arte came on board early in the production process. Thus, the film crew was composed of members coming from a wide range of countries, including almost every region of former Yugoslavia. Beside Slovene filmmakers and actors, the film features Macedonian actress Labina Mitevski, co-writer Siniša Dragin and film editor Petar Marković from Serbia, Croatian composers Jure Ferina and Pavao Miholjević, and Croatian actress Dara Vukić. The film was shot in Ljubljana and along the Croatian coast.
