TBILISI: Ana Urushadze, the daughter of the acclaimed Georgian helmer Zaza Urushadze, is currently in postproduction with her first feature film, Scary Mother. The film is set to be released in 2017.

The drama written by Ana Urushadze follows the 50 year old housewife Manana, who decides to become a writer, a dream she gave up for her family. But when she is reading the published book to her family, she realises that her fears were reasonable.

The main characters are played by Nato Murvanidze, Dimitri Tatishvili, Rama Ioseliani and Avto Makhraaze.

Lasha Khalvashi, who is producing through Studio Artizm, told FNE that postproduction partners or funds, sales and festivals are welcomed. "We were very limited with the budget and shooting was quite challenging", he said.

The budget of 300,000 EUR was partially covered by a grant from the Georgian National Film Center. The Georgian company Gemini is coproducing.

The project received very positive feedback at the Coming Soon New Talents section of Vilnius IFF Industry. Khalvashi will participate in the EFP Producers on the Move programme at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.
