Czechs Limit TV Ad Volume

By

PRAGUE: The Czech Senate has passed a bill that controls the volume of advertising on TV.

The new bill states that TV commercials cannot be louder than the highest volume of the programme that they accompany. It also sets a fine of up to 5 m CZK for violations of the law.

According to Czech Radio, the bill now goes to the president for signing, and will go into effect in mid-2012.

Bulgaria is also considering a similar law.
