FNE at KVIFF 2013: The LUX Prize announces Official Selection

    KARLOVY VARY: The 10 films of the LUX Prize 2013 Official Selection have been announced at the 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

    The selection was announced by Mr Oldrich Vlasak, Vice-President of the European Parliament together with Ms Silvia Costa, member of the Committee on Culture and Education, and two members of the LUX Prize Selection Panel: Mr Karel Och, KVIFF Artistic Director, and Mr Jakub Duszynski, Co-President of Europa Distribution.
    The selection included three titles from central and eastern Europe, In Bloom by Georgian director Nana Ekvtimishvili and the Circles directed by Serbian director Srdan Golubovic.  Both films screened in the Berlinale Forum earlier this year.  From the Czech Republic there is Fortress directed by Lukáš Kokeš, Klára Tasovská
     
    The films are a mix of socially realist dramas, experimental pieces and documentaries, and represent the work of a few established and well known filmmakers among young and promising newcomers.
