FESTIVALS: Czech Summer Film School Honours Greenaway

    UHERSKE HRADISTE: British director Peter Greenaway has received the prize of the Association of Czech Film Clubs (AČFK) at the 40th edition of the Summer Film School (LFS) running through 2 August 2014.

    It marked a return to the festival by Greenaway, who was first there in 1993. The festival will also honour Bertrand Tavernier.

    The 2014 programme includes a section on contemporary Spanish cinema, the Czech premiere of Michel Gondry’s animated documentary on Noam Chomsky, Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy? An Animated Conversation with Noam Chomsky, and special focus sections on Czech experimental filmmaker Alexander Hackenschmied and on Sci-Fi in the Visegrad region.

    The festival is organized by the Association of Czech Film Clubs.
