FESTIVALS: Anifilm 2023 Started in Liberec

    LIBEREC: The 22nd edition of the International Festival of Animated Films – Anifilm kicked off in Liberec, Czech Republic on 2 May 2023 and it is screening approximately 500 works till 7 May 2023.

    Ten films have been selected for the Long Animated Film Competition, including Hungary’s Four Souls of Coyote by Áron Gauder, Slovak/Czech The Websters Movie by Katarína Kerekesová, and My Love Affair with Marriage (Latvia, United States, Luxembourg) directed by Signe Baumane.

    As usual, the Official Selection also includes international competitions for short films, student films, abstract and non-narrative animations, music videos, VR films and computer games.

    The Czech Horizon holds competitions for short films, student films, music videos, commissioned works and series.

    The festival is also hosting the Creatoola Animarket 2023, the biggest animation networking event in the Czech Republic, which welcomes professionals in the field of animation, VFX, and VR / AR TV.

    Anifilm is organised by the Citizens’ Association for the Support of Animated Film (OSPAF).
