TALLINN: The Estonian Film Institute gave almost 850,000 EUR as production grants for the new feature films by Jaak Kilmi and Katrin and Andres Maimik.
Heroes from the East / Sangarid Idast by Jaak Kilmi, a Swedish/Finnish/Estonian/Latvian coproduction produced by Taska Film received 475,085 EUR of a budget of 1.1 m EUR.
The dramedy Uncle Who Looked Like Me / Minu Näoga Onu by Katrin and Andres Maimik, produced by Kuukulgur Film, received 374,000 EUR of a budget of 550,000 EUR.
The budget for film subsidies of the Estonian Film Institute will be 1,315,000 EUR in 2016.
The Film New Europe (FNE) Association is the networking platform for film professionals in the CEE/SEE/Baltics region. The webportal and FNE newswire was chosen as the MAIN TOOL to achieve the network’s objectives of the sharing of know how, visibility of regional cultural diversity and finally the VOICE of the region.
