Estonian film wins Cartoon d'Or

    One of the major prizes in animation, the Cartoon d"Or, was awarded to Crocodile by Estonian filmmaker Kaspar Jancis. The award was presented at the conclusion of Cartoon Forum (14-17 September) held in Sopron, Hungary.

    The award is given to the best European short animated film, and includes a prize of 10,000 euros. Cartoon Forum took place in a CEE country for the first time this year.

    Crocodile, the tale of an opera singer who performs for children wearing a crocodile costume, was produced by Eesti Joonisfilm (www.joonisfilm.ee ). Jancis, one of the production company's newer members, has won numerous awards for his five previous films.
