GRANTS: National Film Institute - Hungary Announces Grants


    BUDAPEST: The National Film Institute – Hungary has distributed 5,381,199 EUR / 1.86 billion HUF for the production of three projects and 94.6 m HUF / 273,689 EUR for the preproduction of two projects. Orphan, the new feature film by László Nemes, is among the projects receiving production grants.

    The director of Oscar-winning Son of Saul / Saul fia received 2.6 m EUR / 900 m HUF for the production of his third feature film Orphan / Az árva, produced by Laokoon Filmgroup.

    Yvonne Kerékgyártó can move into production with her second feature Együtt kezdtük produced by Sparks, while the long animated film Csongor és Tünde by Csaba Máli and Zsolt Pálfi, produced by Cinemon, received 570 m HUF / 1.65 EUR.

    The grants were announced on 4 June 2021.
