New Hungarian Film Week Board is appointed

    The Board of the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary (www.mmka.hu) appointed a new Hungarian Film Week board to preside over next year's jubilee edition.

    Emil Novak, artistic director of Stern Film Studio and Media Center. was named president of the board Board members are Gabor Dettre, director Tableau; Gyorgy Molnar; director Maria Sos; editor Hajnal Sello; Gyorgy Szomjas, director and secretary of the Association of Hungarian Feature and TV Artists; and Erzsebet Toth, secretary of the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary. The manager of the Organizing Committee will be Kriszta Hermann.

    In 2009, the 40th anniversary of Hungarian Film Week, sees numerous events scheduled throughout the country. Moveast International Film Festival (www.moveast.hu) in Pecs will host a FIPRESCI conference (October 7-14), a reminder that the first Hungarian Film Week took place in Pecs in 1965. Several filmmaker and organizer will be invited who were involved in the first Hungarian Film Week's organization, with a summary of the history of the Hungarian Film Week's 40 years.
