RTL Klub CEO claims media title

    For the second year in a row Dirk Gerkens, CEO of the commercial TV channel RTL Klub (www.rtlklub.hu), has been named the most influential person in the Hungarian media by Marketing & Media magazine.

    Gerkens (41) joined RTL Group in 1995 as the deputy to the Head of TV activities and helped launched RTL Klub in Hungary. He was appointed RTL Klub CEO in 2001 and is also involved in the development of RTL Group in Central and Eastern Europe.

    TV2 (www.tv2.hu) CEO Zoltan Vardy is fifth on the list. The most influential woman, RTL Klub sales manager Gabriella Vidus, came in at number ten.

    The ranking was determined by a jury of media professionals.
