Malta Plans Film Coproduction Funding


    Malta Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia told the country’s parliament that government plans to introduce 1m EUR in funding for coproductions.

    In his presentation to the parliament, according to Malta Today, Malia also said that the Malta Film Commission is preparing an international marketing plan and will simplify the process for film permits. It also plans to build a sound stage using a combination of private and state funding.

    Malta already offers a 22% cash rebate and distributes 250,000 EUR per year for the domestic film industry.
