Two BAFTA Nominations for Ida

    WARSAW: Pawel Pawlikowski's Ida has been nominated for BAFTA Film Awards in the Foreign Film category, and also for Cinematography (Lukasz Zal, Ryszard Lenczewski).

    The BAFTA awards ceremony will take place on 8 February 2015. Other films nominated in the Foreign Film category are: Leviathan by Andrey Zvyagintsev, The Lunchbox by Ritesh Batra, Trash by Stephen Daldry and Two Days, One Night by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne.

    The Polish hit was also nominated for the Golden Globe in the Foreign Film category, together with the Estonian Tangerines by Zaza Urushadze, produced by Allfilm  and Cinema 24 in Georgia.The Golden Globes ceremony, where Leviathan was awarded Best Foreign Film,  took place in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles on 11 January.

    Ida is produced by Phoenix Film (DK) and Opus Film (PL) in association with Portobello Pictures (GB), supported by the Polish Film Institute and EU MEDIA Programme.
