The initiative is being lead by Poland's Gutek Film and film industry streaming service Festivalscope. It was presented at the European Commission's Berlinale conference on 9 February. The project is being backed by distributors in several other EU countries: Aero Films in the Czech Republic, Stadtkino in Austria, Soda Pictures in the U.K. and Cinefil Co in Hungary. The project is supported by the EU’s Creative Europe programme.
BERLIN: Scope50, a VOD platform for films that have premiered at recent film festivals but have yet to be picked up for distribution in the European Union, is being launched at the Berlin Film Festival.
