Past Life, set in 1977, is the first chapter of a trilogy based on a true story following two sisters: Sephi, a beginning choir singer and Nana, a journalist who tries to solve a war mystery that has been casting a shadow on their whole lives. The leading roles are played by Nelly Tagar and Joy River.
Nesher already shot part of the principal footage in Germany before he moved the crew to Poland. The shoot in Łódź launched in October 2015 and will last till the second half of December. After that the crew will move to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
The film is produced by David Silber at Tel Aviv-based Metro Communications in co-production with Opus Film. Past Life is made with the support from Israel’s Rabinovich Fund, the Jerusalem Film Fund and The New Group Broadway theatre company.
