Poland has a tradition for spawning talented directors and while Polanski has become an international celebrity a slate of five Polish films in the EFM this year shows off the young generation of Polish directors.

All That I Love directed by Jacek Borcuch and produced by Prasa I Film (www.prasaifilm.pl) is an audience friendly film about a young Polish rock bank set in Poland in the spring of 1981. It's a passionate tale about music and coming of age set against a dramatic political backdrop. It's distributed by Wide Management.

The Reverse directed by Borys Lankosz and produced by KADR Film Studios (www.kadr.com.pl) won the main prize in Gdynia as best Polish film of 2009 and Lankosz has been hailed as a major new talent. Produced by KADR Studio who are also handling international sales in Berlin the film is set in 1950's Poland and is a highly stylish story of three generations of women living together and how a charming young man enters their lives. But the whole story takes on a macabre turn when romance turns to murder.

Balladyna directed by Dariusz Zawsiak and produced by Adyton International (www.adyton.eu)is a Polish US coproduction produced by Adyton International and Legend 44. It's a crime tale that stars a NYC detective as he hunts for a killer while the bodies pile up.

Expecting Love is directed by Lukasz Karwowski and produced Grupa Filmowa (www.grupafilmowa.pl) with NonStop Sales (www.nonstopsales.com) handling international sales. The film is a romantic tale of a handsome Los Angeles lawyer whose life becomes complicated when his Polish ex-girlfriend Johanna becomes pregnant.

Trick directed by Jan Hryniak is an action thriller of two intellectuals who stage a daring escape from prison. Trick is produced by Aromer S C (www.aromer.pl) together with Telekomunikacja Polska, JSK and Architekci with Aromer handling international sales in Berlin.
