    CANNES: Croatian/Bulgarian/Slovenian/French The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent by Nebojša Slijepčević won the Palme d’or for Short Film in the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, held 14 – 25 May 2024. The US film Anora by Sean Baker received the Palme d’or in the main competition.

    In the Un Certain Regard competition, the Best Performance by an Actress Award went to the Indian actress Anasuya Sengupta for her role in Konstantin Bojanov’s The Shameless, a coproduction between Switzerland, France, Bulgaria and Taiwan.

    Emanuel Pârvu’s Three Kilometers to the End of the World / Trei kilometri până la capătul lumii, a Romanian production screened in the Competition, received the Queer Palm.

    The Marché du Film Goes to Cannes Award, the first award presented by the Market, went to the Swiss/Italian project Don’t Let the Sun (Catch You Crying) by Jacqueline Zünd.
