Iguanas is the story of a 45-year-old rocker ready to do whatever it takes for the sake of his drug-addicted son.
Anca Puiu and Mandragora (www.mandragora.ro) are producing. The project is co-produced by Marianne Slot and the French company Slot Machine (www.slotmachine.fr) together with Germany's Departure Films, with the contribution of HBO Romania (www.hbo.ro), the support of the National Centre for Cinema and in association with the Romanian public television (www.tvr.ro).
The budget it 624,000 Euro, representatives of Mandragora told FNE.
Dan Chiorean is the leading actor, and cast includes: Alin State, Crina Semciuc, Ofelia Popii, Richard Balint, Daniel Vulcu and Elvira Rîmbu. Tudor Mircea is the DOP. Crişan's first collaboration with Mandragora, the short film Megatron, won the Palme d'Or in 2008. Iguanas' premiere is set for 2013.
