Drift is an intimate poetical story about love, death and grief involving a Flemish couple (the woman is terminally ill) and set against the backdrop of a beautiful landscape. Vandendriessche wrote the script based on an idea of the protagonist, the artist Dirk Hendrikx. Carl Rottiers is the DOP. Dear Meeussen plays the wife.
The film is produced by Peter Krueger through the Belgium’s Inti Films (www.intifilms.com) in coproduction with Raymond van der Kaaij and Holland’s Revolver Media Production (www.revolver.nl). Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan 4Proof Film is the line producer. The project is supported by the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (www.vaf.be) and Nederlands Filmfonds (www.filmfonds.nl). The director told Dutch media that the budget is about one fifth of an average Flemish film’s budget.
Drift is set to be finished in autumn 2013.
