This is the first time that Romanian public TV is producing original content abroad, as a result of the decision taken by the Government on 29 October 2014. The Government also allowed TVR to make payments in advance up to 100% from public funds in order to equip the subsidiary and produce original content in the Romanian language.
TVR resumed broadcasting in Moldova in December 2013, and the National Audiovisual Council of Romania allotted a secondary license for TVR for broadcasting in Moldova in 2013 after the audiovisual council in Moldova gave the TVR frequency to another television station in 2007. TVR appealed and the conflict was resolved.
