Anca Mitran, the new General Director CNC Romania

BUCHAREST: Anca Mitran has won the contest organised by the Ministry of Culture and will be appointed General Director at the National Film Center (CNC).

It was the first contest for General Director of the CNC in nine years. After the former head of the CNC Eugen Serbanescu who was running CNC since 2006 was appointed consul in Bologna in April 2013, the CNC has been run by the acting directors Mihai Ioan Kogalniceanu and Anca Mitran. According to Mediafax five persons applied for the contest.

Anca Mitran was the head of the National Film Archives - Romanian Cinematheque since 1997. With Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering (1997) and film aesthetics (2010), she is also a professor at the Department of Film and Television Cinematography, I. L. Caragiale National University of Theatrical and Cinematographic Arts.
