The central character in The Anniversary / Aniversarea is a man who will celebrate his 94th birthday soon, although his three-generation family expects each year will be the last one, all the more since he is semi-paralyzed and in a wheelchair. The core of the plot is the fact that he refuses to confess thus leading his family to an understanding of who he really was.

The film stars Mircea Albulescu in his last role on screen (he passed away in 2016). The cast includes Răzvan Vasilescu, Gheorghe Ifrim, Constantin Cojocaru, Mihai Constantin, Emilia Dobrin, Emanuel Pârvu and Coca Bloos.

The film was produced by Chişu through DaKino Productions in coproduction with Watch Me Production. The Romanian Film Centre supported it with a production grant of approximately 145,000 EUR/642,000 RON. This is the first feature film supported by the CNC from this independent filmmaker and producer.

The film will be released in Romania in 2017.
