CLUJ-NAPOCA: Twelve feature films, eight long documentaries and 13 short films will screen in the Romanian Days selection of the 20th Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF). Romania is the star of the anniversary edition with 45 titles in various sections of the festival that will screen more than 170 films from 23 July to 1 August 2021.

Three Romanian films selected for Cannes 2021 will have their national premieres at TIFF: Radu Munteanu’s feature film Întregalde and the short films When Night Meets Dawn by Andreea Borțun and Intercom 15 / Interfon 15 by Andrei Epure.

The Romanian Days Competition includes 12 titles directed by young filmmakers. Two of them, Poppy Field / Câmp de maci by Eugen Jebeleanu, a queer drama about a conflicted member of the police force, and Unidentified / Neidentificat, a thriller about un unsolved crime and an obsessed cop by Bogdan George Apetri, are also in the international competition for the Transilvania Trophy (the lineup will be announced next week).

The Romanian film selection of TIFF features no less than 13 world premieres. The usual Closed Screenings for film industry professionals will offer the opportunity to discover Romanian films that are currently in postproduction and will be launched in 2022.
